Nutrition Education in Women’s Eating Disorder Program
Nutrition Education is an essential component of eating disorder treatment at Willow Place for Women. For as long as our clients were affected by an eating disorder, they lacked proper nutrition. Many clients come to our facility malnourished and with severe vitamin deficiency. Our thorough medical exam evaluates the severity of each client’s condition upon their arrival. Then, based on that, we begin a treatment geared specifically towards helping them recover.
As we begin treatment for an eating disorder, we start to administer vitamins. We also create a diet plan to properly nourish the client’s mind, body, and spirit. We understand that clients will have many questions throughout this process and we strive to educate them as much as possible about every step so that they can begin to understand the importance of proper nutrition for vitality and well-being.
Throughout treatment, we work with our clients to come up with meal plans and healthy lifestyle habits that they can realistically sustain after treatment. We believe that education is power, and the more each client knows about how to properly nourish their body, the better.
Proper nutrition can make a person feel great inside and out. We work with our clients to shift the perception of control from the amount of food ingested to make their body strong, healthy, and fit.
