Intensive Outpatient Program for Women
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Willow Place for Women offers substance abuse treatment to women dealing with drug and alcohol addiction. This program is a step down in intensity from our Partial Hospitalization Program that still offers all the benefits of drug and alcohol treatment. Intensive Outpatient Programs are designed to allow patients the opportunity to take care of daily responsibilities while also participating in drug or alcohol abuse treatment. It can also be an aftercare option for our partial hospitalization graduates. Our IOP allows women the flexibility of time because we know that not everyone can dedicate all of their time to treatment. We will work with each client to accommodate their lifestyle including work and family responsibilities. We also treat each client as a unique case, creating a specific treatment track for their needs. We understand that addiction affects each of our patients differently, so there needs to be a specific plan to recognize each patient’s addiction treatment needs.
What are the Benefits of an Intensive Outpatient Program?
Selecting intensive outpatient programs provides you with the opportunity to reap benefits that standard residential rehabilitation services cannot provide. Although different treatment options should be considered by different people based on addiction experience, intensive outpatient programs are great resource and option when considering which type of addiction treatment is best. Some benefits of enrolling into an intensive outpatient treatment program include:
Affordability: Intensive outpatient options are usually less than the cost of residential treatment programs, and provide a more affordable approach to addiction recovery.
Live at Home: Participating in an intensive outpatient program provides you with the opportunity to continue living from home while being provided with the resources you need from treatment. Sometimes it can be challenging or even impossible to leave various responsibilities to go to treatment, and the intensive outpatient program makes getting treatment for anyone possible. Additionally, it can be easier to adopt treatment strategies into everyday life because patients are able to return to normal routines daily.
Work and School: Sometimes a person decides to get treatment and it is not feasible to leave work or school to attend residential treatment. With intensive outpatient treatment options, you will no longer have to worry about missing class or payments due to attending treatment full-time. This allows for much-added peace of mind and throughout treatment.
Community: If it is important for you to retain support from home, church, or the community while you are in treatment, the intensive outpatient treatment program allows you to do so. Proper support is vital to the chance for long-term recovery success, so it is important to maintain it throughout treatment.

Addiction Treatment with Intensive Outpatient Programs
During the IOP, patients are monitored in a caring and compassionate environment surrounded with recovery support. We provide every medical, psychological, and holistic need that our patients may have during our treatment programs. You can rest assured that we keep our patient’s confidentiality a high priority as we understand the sensitivity of addiction treatment. Our IOP creates an individualized approach to treatment, where our patients are not treated for their addiction, but treated for the cause of their addiction. We believe that discovering the underlying causes of addiction and trauma and giving our patients the opportunity to confront these causes gives them the ability to live a confident life free from addiction. Our intensive therapy sessions work to provide education about maintaining and developing healthy relationships, identifying and overcoming relapse triggers, and the disease of addiction. Therapy sessions also work to identify the causes of addiction and triggers that may lead to relapse. Additionally, coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and mindfulness techniques are all taught skills during the Intensive outpatient program that help a recovering individual handle the pressures of the outside world once they have completed the program.
Holistic Strategies for Treatment
During our Intensive Outpatient Program, our patients are exposed to a number of different therapy options. These holistic approaches aim to go beyond just reducing the symptoms of addiction, but treating the entire individual as a whole. We believe that a person is not their addiction. To overcome the imbalance that addiction places on life, an individual must focus on healing their mind, body, and soul. Regaining balance of an entire individual is the aim of holistic, or alternative, approaches to addiction treatment. Patients enrolled into the IOP at The Willow Place for Women have the opportunity to experience healing in a way that traditional medicine cannot provide. Meditation, yoga, dance, art, biosound, and massage therapy allow patients to be more in tune with the imbalances in their own lives. This helps recovering individuals be able to cope with many ailments that may trigger a cause of relapse like anger, depression, insomnia, anxiety, and much more.
A Stepping Stone to Aftercare
Once the intensive outpatient program concludes, The Willow Place for Women provides support during your early days of recovering following the graduation of the program. These opportunities allow you to keep focused on your recovery goals and provides you with help while you assimilate back into daily life. Staying submerged in a lifestyle of recovery allows patients to keep sobriety as a priority during the most sensitive days of recovery. Additionally, aftercare patients are able to utilize any of the medical, psychological, and holistic services that were available to them during the intensive outpatient program so that they are provided with anything they need post-treatment.
